Overview

Samuel P. Myler is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. His practice focuses primarily on litigation arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Sam has represented benefit plans, plan sponsors, and ERISA fiduciaries in a wide variety of ERISA-related lawsuits, including benefits claims class actions, retiree medical litigation, stock drop cases, and excessive fees litigation. Sam’s experience also includes the representation of banks, corporate trustees, and high net worth individuals in complex trust and estates litigation.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Sam was a Litigation associate at another large Chicago-based international law firm. Sam has also served as an adjunct Legal Research and Writing Instructor at the University of Illinois College of Law and has worked for the Illinois Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division. In 2015, Sam accepted a clerkship with the Honorable Barbara B. Crabb, United States District Court Judge for the Western District of Wisconsin. He returned to the firm following that clerkship in 2016.
