Overview

Matthew J. McConkey advises clients on international trade matters, with emphasis on trade remedies such as antidumping and countervailing duty cases, as well as Section 201 (global safeguards), Section 232 (national security), and Section 301 (unfair trade investigation) actions.

Experience

  • Defended a publicly listed Chinese producer of lightweight thermal paper against companion antidumping and countervailing duty investigations filed by US producer of lightweight thermal paper.
  • Assisted FNA Group to obtain import tariffs of over 200% against Chinese & Vietnamese producers of gas powered pressure washers.
  • For over 20 years, has defended the majority of the Vietnamese fish fillet industry against claims of dumping in the US market.
  • Successfully defended the entire Indonesian shrimp industry, as well as the Government of Indonesia, in a US CVD investigation against Indonesian shrimp – resulting in a finding of no subsidization.
  • On behalf of the sole remaining US solar cell manufacturer, prepared and filed first 201 global safeguard action to occur in over a decade.
