Jonathan Weinberg is an associate in the Supreme Court & Appellate practice in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office. His practice focuses on issues and appeals in intellectual property and other technology law matters.

Jonathan holds a PhD in computer science and has substantial experience at all levels of the patent system. He is a registered patent attorney who has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications covering complex computer technologies from processor architecture to distributed systems. He has litigated at the trial level before the district courts and before administrative bodies, including the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. At the appellate level, he has brought numerous cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he clerked for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna.

Last year alone, Jonathan appeared before the Federal Circuit in seven patent cases. He has also briefed other circuits on issues ranging from software copyright to bankruptcy law. In addition to his appellate docket, Jonathan regularly authors motions for patent trial teams and counsels technology clients on intellectual property and other business issues.

Jonathan earned his JD cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Association. He received his MS and PhD in computer science from the University of California, San Diego, where his research focused on large-scale and distributed computing. He earned his BA in computer science from Colby College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and with departmental distinction.
