Overview
Jan Boker is counsel in Mayer Brown's Mexico City office and a member of the Banking & Finance practice. He concentrates his practice on various financing matters and financial services regulation in Mexico, including corporate financing, project financing and restructuring transactions, representing both banks/lenders and sponsors/borrowers. Prior to joining Mayer Brown he acted as general counsel of the National Agriculture Development Bank (Financiera Nacional de Desarrollo Agropecuario), and held important positions in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público) as deputy legal director coordinating the General Counsels of the Federal Development Banks, as well as in the Ministry of Economy (Secretaría de Economía), as the first director of the “RUG” (Registry of Security Interest in Movable Assets). Additionally, for a number of years he practiced law in renowned local and international law firms in Mexico focused on banking and finance transactions. He speaks Spanish, English and German.
