Emily Booth-Dornfeld is counsel in Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office and is a member of the Consumer Financial Services group. Her practice focuses on federal and state regulatory compliance matters, primarily for mortgage lenders, banks, title companies, real estate brokerage firms and other financial services providers. She represents clients in connection with US federal and state investigations and examinations and defends them in administrative enforcement proceedings, including those involving the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), US Department of Justice (DOJ), Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and state banking, real estate and insurance regulators.

Emily also counsels clients on various regulatory compliance matters relating to an array of consumer credit laws and government-insured and guaranteed loan programs, including: the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act; Federal Housing Administration insured loans; VA guaranteed loans; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan programs; and state mortgage lending and title insurance laws and regulations. She reviews business plans and contracts for compliance with such laws and regulations, drafts related agreements and disclosures, assists clients with assuring that their quality control and compliance programs are sufficiently robust to monitor compliance with agency requirements and performs due diligence compliance reviews.
