Eduardo Molan Gaban is the head of the Latin American Antitrust & Competition Group. He is based in the São Paulo and Brasilia offices and lead 14 professionals (12 lawyers – including himself - and 2 interns) fully dedicated to practice. Eduardo is also member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice at Mayer Brown LLP, focusing complex cases on economic law litigation; He is also member of the Global Anticorruption & FCPA group, and International Trade practice at Mayer Brown. Eduardo has over 16 years of experience and is highly rated in the market by clients, peers and authorities. He has in-depth knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory regime, having spent two years as an enforcer at the Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defence – CADE.

He is recognized by some of the most prestigious International publications , such as Chambers Latin America, LatinLawyer 250, Who's Who Legal, The Legal 500 and Euromoney Expert guide as one of the leading lawyers in Brazil in his fields. He has successfully lead complex cases with large repercussions related to mergers, national and international investigations, civil and criminal cases for cartel practices and related crimes (bid rigging, fraud, corruption, etc.). Additionally, he has experience with complex litigation in the antitrust and civil, criminal, antitrust and intellectual property areas as well as with disputes and advocacy in regulatory affairs involving logistics and transport, aviation , energy , telecommunications and education.

He has worked in several (over 20) high profile cartel investigations involving dawn raids, civil and criminal litigations, leniency applications and settlement negotiations before CADE as well as Federal and State Prosecutors Offices. Eduardo received his bachelors and masters in Law degrees through the Pontifical Catholic University in São Paulo (PUC/SP), as well as a doctorate in law from PUC/SP – NYU (where he was a Fulbrighter).
