David Wang is an award-winning Intellectual Property partner in Mayer Brown's Palo Alto office. Focusing on patent infringement litigation and adversarial patent licensing negotiations, David won “Patent Licensing Lawyer of the Year in California” (2017), is the exclusive winner in California of the 2017 Client Choices Award which is based on his clients' extraordinary satisfaction for his work as a patent lawyer, has been repeatedly listed among the World’s Leading Patent Litigators by IAM Patent 1000, named an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and recognized as a Super Lawyer in intellectual property litigation by Super Lawyers in 2010. David handles high-stakes patent infringement matters before various courts, the Federal Circuit, and the International Trade Commission (ITC) in Section 337 actions. One jury trial victory in a complex patent and trade secret action was awarded the “Defense Verdict of the Year” by the San Francisco Daily Journal and a “Top Ten Defense Verdict for 2003” by The National Law Journal. David has represented numerous leading companies in patent litigations or patent licensing negotiations including Rohm Co., Nanya Technology, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Intel, Acer, Cadence Design Systems, Tyco International, AmTran, Vizio, Universal Instruments, and others. David has experience representing clients in a wide range of technologies including electronics, digital and analog circuits, software, semiconductor devices, semiconductor processes, memory chips, circuit emulation, power circuits, computers, servers, disk drives, robotics, high definition TV, plasma and LCD displays, DVD players, optics, optical communication products, routers, lasers, wireless communication devices and protocols, mobile phones, base stations, microprocessors, network switches, 802.11 devices, silicon on substrate devices, bar code scanners, medical devices, catheters, surgical tools, ultrasound imaging machines, MRI machines, pacemakers, defibrillators, MEMS devices, RFID, organic semiconductors, and chemicals.

David earned his BS in electrical engineering and his MS in electrical engineering at the University of Southern California. He earned his JD at the University of Southern California School of Law.
