Barbara Luvizotto is an Antitrust, Competition, Government & Global Trade associate in the São Paulo office of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown.

Barbara has four years of experience in competition law and has participated in several complex and high profile cases involving alleged anticompetitive practives, merger review, and economic law litigation. In the international trade area, Barbara has been involved in investigations launched by foreign authorities and by the Commercial Defense Department (DECOM).

In 2017, Barbara was a member of the Brussels Office of Mayer Brown, where she was involved in a number of cases related to EU Competition Law and EU Regulatory Law.

Barbara is a PhD Candidate at the University of São Paulo, where she currently studies the digital economy and international treaties. She holds a LLM in Law and Economics from the University of Hamburg, University of Ghent and University of Bologna, and a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of São Paulo. In 2013, she was awarded with a merit-based scholarship granted by the University of São Paulo to participate in an academic exchange program with the University of Tübingen, where she focused her studies on EU Competition Law.

Barbara is fluent in Portuguese, English, and German.
