Aylla Assis is an associate of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown and a member of the Antitrust & Competition practice. Active in her field of practice since 2008, she provides legal advice on competition law with particular focus on defending against investigations of anticompetitive practices, merger reviews and compliance matters. Aylla also provides legal consultation in antitrust litigation and due diligence.

She has represented clients in high profile cartel cases, as well as in antitrust investigations alleging price fixing and bid rigging conducted by the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (CADE). She has also helped clients with merger control cases, securing approvals for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, exclusivity agreements and distribution agreements. Recently she has handled discovery efficiently and successfully for a particular client, including drafting and responding to information requests from antitrust authorities and managing large teams of attorneys conducting document review and fact development.

She graduated from Centro Universitário de Brasília School of Law in 2008 and was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association, both Federal District and Sao Paulo Chapters, in the same year. In 2010, Aylla concluded her MBA in Public Law and Regulation at Fundação Getúlio Vargas. She is a member of the Commission for Studies of Competition and Economic Regulation of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Chapter (CECORE- OAB/SP). Aylla Assis is also co-author of the book "Comentários à Nova Lei de Defesa da Concorrência", published in 2012 by Método Publishing House.
