Andrea Maldonado Weiss is an experienced litigator in Mayer Brown’s Los Angeles office. Her litigation practice focuses on class action defense, including in the consumer and employment arenas. Andrea has represented clients in litigation matters alleging false and misleading advertising, violations of consumer protection laws, violations of wage and hour laws, products liability, breach of contract, fraud, business torts, trade secret misappropriation, unfair trade practices, and auditor malpractice.
Andrea is a regular contributor (bi-weekly) to the ABA Private Advertising Litigation group’s legal developments newsletter and to the Firm’s monthly U.S. Employment Litigation Roundup newsletter. Since 2012, Andrea has been recognized annually as one of Southern California’s Rising Stars by Super Lawyers Magazine. Andrea co-chairs the Firm’s Associate Diversity Council and is a long-standing member of the Los Angeles office’s recruiting committee.
Andrea received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California, where she served as Co-Chair of the La Raza Law Students Association and was a Senior Editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal. She is fluent in both written and spoken Spanish.
