Allan Ma is a Senior Associate in the Hong Kong office of Mayer Brown JSM's Banking & Finance practice.

He specialises in PRC cross-border transactions with a broad practice in PRC corporate, real estate, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, debt-finance, RMB denominated fund formation, QFII schemes and RMB Interbank Bond Trading.

Allan is especially experienced in the cross-border structuring of mergers and acquisitions, as well as debt financing and equity investment transactions across a broad range of industries including real estate, media, technology, renewable energy, biotechnology and publishing. He has extensive knowledge of PRC foreign-exchange restrictions and exceptions, as well as related taxation issues.

In addition, Allan practices in the area of real estate with a particular focus on cross-border real estate acquisitions, financings, fund formation and the structuring of real estate projects in the PRC. Allan has extensive experience in complex real estate finance transactions advising clients in the origination and creation of senior and subordinated debt instruments in large scale commercial real estate acquisitions and financings. Allan has advised banks, financial institutions and investors on numerous real estate financings of properties in the US, PRC and Australia.

His broad client base includes international banks, financial institutions, venture capital funds, private equity funds, multinational conglomerates, as well as publicly listed PRC corporations.

Before joining Mayer Brown JSM, Allan has worked in the New York and Beijing offices of a top tier Wall Street law firm, as well as the Sydney and Hong Kong offices of top tier international law firms, with experience in private legal practice for more than 10 years.
