Leading international law firm Mayer Brown is pleased to announce that Ashley Katz, a restructuring and insolvency specialist, joins the firm as a partner in its London finance group. He joins from the London office of Allen & Overy LLP on 4 February, 2008.
Ashley advises on all aspects of financial restructuring and insolvency related matters having acted for banks, borrowers, bondholders, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders in relation to 'big ticket' transactions. His recent experience includes advising: the PPP administrators of Metronet; the bondholders of the Eurotunnel Group; and the bank syndicate lending to Courts, the furniture superstore and subsequently advising the administrators of Courts.
He also regularly lectures on a range of insolvency topics including administration, anti-avoidance provisions, employment/insolvency law, directors' duties and customer insolvency.
Prior to joining Allen & Overy LLP in London, Ashley was a partner in a boutique insolvency practice in South Africa.
