Mayer Brown Represents TransCanada Corporation in $2.8 Billion Acquisition

1 April 2008 - Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, is representing TransCanada Corporation in its acquisition of the Ravenswood Generating Facility, a 2,480 megawatt generating facility located in Queens, New York, from National Grid plc for $2.8 billion, plus closing adjustments. Ravenswood is a gas and oil fired generating facility that has the capacity to serve approximately 21% of the overall peak load in New York City. National Grid is divesting Ravenswood pursuant to the New York Public Service Commission order approving its acquisition of KeySpan Corporation.
