Mayer Brown practices and lawyers ranked in Chambers Latin America 2010

22 September 2009 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that the 2010 edition of Chambers Latin America ranks the firm in four Latin America-wide practice categories:  Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A and Projects. Mayer Brown  also is ranked in Brazil in the Banking & Finance: Locally Based International Counsel category.

Stephen Hood, partner-in-charge of Mayer Brown’s São Paulo office, achieved Band 1 rankings in two categories – Latin America-Wide Corporate/M&A and Brazil Banking & Finance: Locally Based International Counsel.  A total of seven Mayer Brown partners were ranked in five categories.

Chambers offers high praise for Mayer Brown’s São Paulo office, which opened in December 2007, stating that it “…has already been a success story, developing work for the group as a whole whilst providing a link on the ground for the firm’s many clients in Latin America.” The publication adds that “…clients describe the teams as ‘fast, focused and motivated – possibly the most impressive of the practices with a presence in Brazil.’
