Los Angeles, 6 August, 2010 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced that Brian May, a partner in its Los Angeles office, has been named to the 2010 class of the “Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” by the National LGBT Bar Association. The award recognizes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.

“Brian’s leadership has significantly raised the bar for LGBT concerns at Mayer Brown, and he has had an enormously positive effect on the lives of our LGBT attorneys and staff,” said Mary Richardson-Lowry, chairman of the Firm’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion and a partner in Mayer Brown’s Government & Global Trade practice.

Mr. May has served on Mayer Brown’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion since 2005.  As leader of the subcommittee on LGBT matters, he helps direct the Firm’s efforts to recruit and retain LGBT attorneys and coordinates LGBT community support such as the Firm’s role as a national sponsor of Lambda Legal Foundation.
