Mayer Brown Lawyer Presents Major Sports Award

07 January 2008 - Chris Holmes, professional development lawyer within the pensions group of leading international law firm Mayer Brown , presented a major trophy at the 59th Annual SJA ("Sports Journalists' Association") Sports Awards, held at the Brewery in the City of London on 12 December 2007.
Chris presented the Bill McGowan trophy to paralympian teenage swimmer, Jonathan Fox.
Having started swimming at a young age to assist his physiotherapy programme, Jonathan now finds himself a world record holder in the S.7 class.
Anna Rogers, Partner and Head of the Pensions Group commented: "Chris has an excellent track record when competing in the Paralympic Games. He is a great role model for other swimmers and indeed everyone around him, and we are pleased that he chose to join Mayer Brown."
Chris Holmes commented: "It was a great honour to be asked by the SJA to present this prestigious award and a great privilege to meet Jonathan. He is a highly motivated sportsman and a great hope for the future of British swimming both at the 2008 Paralympic Games and crucially, London 2012."
Chris was asked to present the award in recognition of his sporting success over 16 years, winning 9 Paralympic gold medals, 6 at a single games, making him Britain's most successful Paralympic swimmer ever.
