Mayer Brown JSM Launches Ultimate Business Legal Guide for Investing in Vietnam

5 December 2008
5 December 2008 - Mayer Brown JSM Vietnam today announces the launch of Vietnam Investors' Guide: Business Law, the first and only business legal guide on investing in Vietnam. The guide was written by leading lawyers from our Ho Chi Minh City office (Dao Nguyen, Managing Partner and David Lim, partner-designate of Mayer Brown JSM (Vietnam)). Backed by more than a decade of experience in Vietnam, Mayer Brown JSM Vietnam is well positioned to advise on all forms of inward investment matters including investment structures and joint ventures.

The guide is published by CCH Asia, a premier information service provider and is written for foreign investors needing to make an informed decision about their business expansion into Vietnam. This unique resource addresses key legal concerns of foreign investors, helping to unravel and understand the application of Vietnam’s commercial laws and practice.

Investors can expect to gain practical knowledge on Vietnam’s business legal framework including laws on investment, enterprise, employment and intellectual property. The guide also provides insight to enable investors to gain clarity on issues, rights and obligations for each relevant law. Useful documentation templates are also provided to help investors through the complexities of drafting forms and contracts.

The opportunities presented by Vietnam, a country with the second highest GDP growth in Asia, are exciting but the lack of understanding for its business legal environment can become a barrier to entry. Investors will recognise Vietnam Investors’ Guide: Business Law as an indispensable guide to charting a successful investment plan.
