7 November 2007 - Mayer Brown received favorable responses from the firm's 2007 summer associate class according to the American Lawyer Summer Associate Survey. Nationally, the firm ranked 58th, up from 101 in last year's survey. The Washington DC office received the No. 1 ranking and the firm was ranked No. 5 in Chicago.
"These results are tremendously gratifying, particularly the near perfect score in Washington DC and the high ranking in Chicago which was significantly better than other global firms in the city," said James D. Holzhauer, Chairman of Mayer Brown. "This is another indicator of our commitment to programs designed to engage and develop future talent for our global firm."
American Lawyer's survey asks summer associates to consider interest level of the work, training and guidance, interactions with partners and full-time associates, how well the firm communicated its goals, how accurately it portrayed itself in interviews and the respondents' inclination to accept a job if one were offered. The respondents were also asked to rate the firm overall as a place to work.
The results of the Summer Associate Survey are described in detail in the November 2007 issue of The American Lawyer Student Edition: http://www.americanlawyerse.com/
