Mayer Brown Advises Macquarie Group in Potential Take Private Transaction of Listed Fund

Mayer Brown LLP advised Macquarie on the formation of Macquarie Advanced Investment Partners, L.P. (MAIP), a new private equity fund. MAIP was formed to take private Macquarie Capital Alliance Group (MCAG), a Macquarie-managed fund traded on the Australian Securities Exchange. MAIP investors include HarbourVest Partners, Partners Group, Paul Capital Partners, Pantheon Ventures, Portfolio Advisors, Procific and AlpInvest Partners.

The transaction is subject to shareholder approval. MCAG holds interests in four companies: European Directories, Red Bee Media, AIR-serv and Regis Group.

The Mayer Brown private investment funds team was led by partner Andrea Schwartzman while the private equity M&A team was led by partner David Lee.
