27 December, 2011 – Mayer Brown represented Bioenergy, a Colombian energy company, in the negotiation of its definitive agreement with Isolux Corsán for the engineering, procurement and construction of Bioenergy’s $203 million ethanol plant in Puerto Lopez, Colombia. The plant will be the largest ethanol plant in the country, with the capacity to produce 480,000 liters of ethanol per day.
The Houston-based Mayer Brown team was led by Corporate & Securities partner Pablo Ferrante and included associate Gabriel Salinas. Laura Cardeño González acted as in-house counsel to Bioenergy, and Alessia Abello Galvis, a partner with Posse Herrera & Ruiz, acted as local counsel to Bioenergy in the transaction.
