Mayer Brown advised a syndicate of banks on the issue of EUR 1.5 billion Fixed Rate Notes by Volkswagen Leasing GmbH

Global law firm Mayer Brown advised a syndicate of banks on the underwriting and placement of EUR 1.5 billion Notes issued by Volkswagen Leasing GmbH, divided in two tranches due November 2014 and May 2018, respectively (issue date: 10 November 2011). The Notes have a fixed interest rate of 2.25 % and 3.25 % p.a., respectively. The syndicate of banks included Bayerische Landesbank (technical lead), Barclays Bank PLC, BNP PARIBAS, Danske Bank A/S and RBC Europe Limited.

The Mayer Brown team was lead by Dr. Jochen Seitz. Dr. Jochen Seitz and Peter Maier have joined the capital markets law practice of Mayer Brown in the firm’s Frankfurt office as of October 1, 2011. Dr. Jochen Seitz has taken the role as Global Co-Head Debt Capital Markets and will further expand the practice area of Bonds, Derivatives and Structured Products in Germany and internationally. Together with Peter Maier, six further team members joined Mayer Brown.

Dr. Jochen Seitz and his team advised a syndicate of banks in connection with the update of the two debt issuance programmes of Volkswagen Financial Services Group in August 2011.
