Marcia Madsen named to National Law Journal list of “Washington’s Most Influential Women Lawyers”

1 July 2010

Mayer Brown partner Marcia Madsen was named by The National Law Journal as one of “Washington’s Most Influential Women Lawyers.”

“The lawyers on our list are power players and were selected for work that places them in an elite tier,” the publication said of its 32 honorees.

Ms. Madsen’s  citation notes that she is one of the few prominent women in the government contracts field, assisting clients in accessing the $500 billion spent annually on goods and services by the US government. The publication also lauded her role from 2005-2007 as chair of the Acquisition Advisory Panel that submitted to Congress more than 80 major recommendations to make federal contracting more competitive, efficient and transparent – setting the legislative agenda for Congress.  Most of those recommendations have been adopted.

“Marcia is an exceptional attorney and we are very proud of her for this well-deserved recognition,” said Mark W. Ryan, former Partner-in-Charge of Mayer Brown’s Washington, DC office.  “Her deep knowledge and understanding of the complex  procurement processes have been a valuable asset to the firm and our clients.   This award is a fine acknowledgement of the quality of her work and dedication to client service.”
