Chambers UK 2012 ranks Mayer Brown in
37 categories and ranks 59 of firm’s lawyers

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Chambers UK 2012 ranked the firm in 37 categories, including five top-band rankings: Dispute Resolution - Highly Regarded; Professional Negligence - Financial; Professional Negligence - Insurance; Professional Negligence - Legal; and Professional Negligence - Technology & Construction.

The new Chambers UK edition also awarded 59 of the firm’s lawyers a total of 75 rankings in 42 practice categories. Nicholas Robertson received the publication’s highest “Star Individual” ranking in the Employment: Employer category, and six Mayer Brown lawyers received top-band rankings: Bruce Bloomingdale, Capital Markets: Securitization; David Chadwick, Insurance: Contentious Claims; Ian Coles, Energy & Natural Resources: Mining International; Sean Connolly, Professional Negligence; and Michael Regan, Construction: Supplier.

Chambers UK 2012 ranked Mayer Brown as “Recommended for Client Service” in 13 categories: Construction - International Arbitration; Construction - Purchaser Led; Construction - Supplier Led; Dispute Resolution - Highly Regarded; Employment - Employer; Pensions Litigation;  Product Liability - Mainly Defendant; Professional Negligence - Financial; Professional Negligence - Insurance; Professional Negligence -Legal; Professional Negligence - Technology & Construction; Tax; and Telecommunications.

The firm also was “Recommended for Commercial Awareness” in 10 categories: Corporate/M&A: High End Capability; Employment - Employer; Energy & Natural Resources - Mining International; Outsourcing; Professional Negligence - Financial; Professional Negligence - Insurance; Professional Negligence - Legal; Professional Negligence - Technology & Construction; Restructuring/Insolvency; and Restructuring/Insolvency - Insurance Insolvency.

Chambers UK comments on Mayer Brown’s top-tier rankings

In the Dispute Resolution category, Chambers interviewees said Mayer Brown “is so available and supportive” and “has the ability to grapple with the most complex issues.” Another client told the publication that “their client handling skills in difficult and tense situations have been excellent.”

Of Mayer Brown’s four top-tier rankings in the Professional Negligence category, Chambers said, “Clients line up to praise a practice that boasts market-leading lawyers in every major area of the professional negligence market. The team attracts impressive work from the numerous insurance panels on which it sits, yet is also directly instructed by top-tier professional clients.
