Chambers Europe 2011 ranks Mayer Brown in 21 categories and ranks 31 of firm’s lawyers

12 May 2011

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that the 2011 edition of Chambers Europe: Europe’s Leading Lawyers for Business ranked the firm in 21 geographic and/or practice categories in Belgium, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, including two top-band rankings:

  • Dispute Resolution: Highly Regarded – United Kingdom
  • Private Equity: Mid Cap – France

Regarding Mayer Brown’s top-band ranking in the Dispute Resolution: Highly Regarded category in the United Kingdom, Chambers says “the team regularly acts for major clients on financial services, restructuring and insurance-related disputes. In addition, it has a strong reputation for its expertise in construction disputes, regularly acting in both High Court litigation and international arbitrations.” According to Chambers’ sources, the practice provides “extremely good, responsive and pragmatic client service.”

Of Mayer Brown’s top-band ranking in the Private Equity: Mid Cap category in France, the publication reports that the firm is “widely regarded as an authority on mid-market transactions and continues to be instructed on prominent private equity work” and that “sources appreciate the group’s full-service offering, which encompasses LBOs, restructurings and M&A.” Chambers’ sources say that “as well as being hard-working and efficient, the lawyers continuously strive to develop their practice.”

The new Chambers edition also ranked 31 Mayer Brown lawyers in 28 geographic and/or practice categories, including five who achieved top-band or higher ranking.

Two Mayer Brown lawyers received the publication’s highest “Star Individual” ranking, which denotes exceptional recommendations in their fields:

  • Nicholas Robertson, Employment: Employer – United Kingdom
  • Paulette Vander Schueren, International Trade/WTO – Belgium

The top-band ranked Mayer Brown lawyers are:

  • Xavier Jaspar, Private Equity: Mid Cap – France
  • Guillaume Kuperfils, Private Equity: Mid Cap – France
  • Jean-Philippe Montfort, Environment: Regulatory – Belgium
  • Paulette Vander Schueren, International Trade/WTO – Belgium
