Tonnage clause day at the Supreme Court

Mayer Brown successfully represented Polar Tankers in a case before the Supreme Court, which sustained a challenge to a property tax imposed on oil tankers by the City of Valdez, Alaska. The Court held, by a vote of 7-2, that the tax violated the federal Constitution's Tonnage Clause.
