8 August 2011
Leading global law firm Mayer Brown announced the appointment of Capital markets partners Dr. Jochen Seitz and who will join the Frankfurt office. This move significantly strengthens the Debt Capital Markets and Structured Products global practice at Mayer Brown.

Jochen Seitz joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he has been head of the German Capital Markets team since 2006 and the German Financial Markets practice group since 2008. He has particular experience in international bonds, debt issuance programmes, retail structured products and derivatives. His practice also covers financial regulatory law, where he advises banks and exchanges in connection with, inter alia, trading OTC certificates and cross border financial services.

Peter Maier also joins from Simmons & Simmons where he worked closely with Jochen Seitz. He advises clients on retail structured products and bonds, and has significant experience in this area. Dr. Joerg Wulfken, managing partner of Mayer Brown Germany and member of the global Management Committee, said:
“Jochen Seitz and Peter Maier complement our existing practice in the area of  international bonds, derivatives and supervisory law. We are delighted to welcome these prominent partners to Mayer Brown.”

Jochen Seitz said:
“Mayer Brown's finance practice is one of Germany’s leading practices. There are a lot of synergies globally and in Germany. My primary focus will be on Europe and Asia, and with Mayer Brown’s strong presence in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, Mayer Brown forms an ideal platform to further grow our already strong practice.”
