Mayer Brown names DC litigator
Michael Lackey to Partnership Board

3 December 2009 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, has named Michael E. Lackey, Jr. to serve on the firm’s Partnership Board, one of two governing bodies of the firm.

A litigator based in the firm’s Washington, DC office, Mr. Lackey focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation and electronic discovery. He represents major companies and individuals in state and federal proceedings, including multi-district and class action litigation, government contract disputes and appeals. He also has represented defendants in numerous grand jury proceedings and governmental investigations.

Mr. Lackey is co-office leader of the litigation practice in Mayer Brown’s Washington, DC office, is group leader of the firm’s Electronic Discovery & Records Management group and group leader of the firm’s Automated Practice Support group. He joined Mayer Brown in 1995.

“Mike’s wide experience in key leadership roles for the firm will be an important asset to the Partnership Board, which serves as the voice of the partnership on key decisions including firm strategy, partner compensation and leadership succession,” said Mayer Brown Chairman Bert Krueger.

Mr. Lackey received a JD degree with high honors from the George Washington University Law School. Nationally recognized for his knowledge of electronic discovery issues, he serves as a member of the Georgetown University Law School’s Advanced E-Discovery Institute. Mr. Lackey is a former naval officer who flew F-14 Tomcats and graduated from the US Navy’s prestigious “Top Gun” school. He also holds a BS degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
