Mayer Brown partner Michael Kantor elected as Co-Chair of the board for the Pacific Council of International Policy

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Los Angeles Government & Global Trade partner Michael (Mickey) Kantor has been elected Co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Pacific Council of International Policy.

The Pacific Council is a membership-based international affairs organization focused on policy issues of special resonance on and to the West Coast. Mr. Kantor has served for four years in various roles at the Pacific Council, including programming and strategic initiatives, and was a member of the executive committee.

“As a longtime resident of California, I am honored to help lead the Pacific Council of International Policy in bringing perspectives from the West Coast and the rest of the nation to various global issues,” Mr. Kantor said. “I look forward to helping members enhance their knowledge of international affairs and develop their effectiveness in the global arena both professionally and personally.”

A former US Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Representative, Mr. Kantor has a long history of public service. He currently serves as the Chair of the Center on Communication Leadership & Policy, on the Board of Advisors of Drug Strategies, is the founder of Los Angeles Conservation Corps and is involved with the LA Commission of Economy and Jobs.

Mr. Kantor concentrates his practice on corporate and financial international transactions. He has extensive experience in market access issues, as well as the expansion of client activities in foreign markets through trade, direct investment, joint ventures and strategic business alliances.
