Mayer Brown receives top rankings in Managing IP’s 2013 World IP Handbook and Survey

16 May 2013

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, received three Tier 1 rankings in the 2013 edition of Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s “World IP Handbook and Survey,” an annual reference guide that provides a state-by-state analysis of the IP market based on extensive research among IP professionals. The firm was top ranked in:

• Patent Contentious – New York and Washington, DC; and
• IP – Illinois.

Mayer Brown also was ranked nationally in the Patent Contentious category.

Additionally, eight Mayer Brown partners across three of the firm’s US offices were recognized as “IP Stars.” IP Stars is a new addition to the Handbook, highlighting the country’s leading individual IP attorneys based on their specific areas of expertise and the various industries they serve. Selected attorneys were nominated by their peers and clients. Final inclusion was based on extensive research, including surveys and interviews, conducted by the magazine.

The Mayer Brown partners recognized in the 2013 Handbook include:

• New York— John Mancini, Lisa Ferri and Terri Gillis;
• Washington, DC—Alan Grimaldi, Gary Hnath and Stephen Baskin; and
• Illinois— James Ferguson and Joseph Mahoney.

The IP Handbook also highlighted Mayer Brown’s strong reputation for patent litigation, transactional and counseling services as well as the firm’s breadth of experience in trademark, copyright, commercial and antitrust matters.
