Mayer Brown JSM named Asia Law Firm of the Year (Transactions) at the 2013 Global PERE Award

Mayer Brown JSM today announced that it has been awarded Asia Law Firm of the Year (Transactions) at the 2013 Global PERE Awards – recognition for its having advised on a total of US$2.5 billion worth of private equity real estate transactions in the Asia-Pacific region last year, with most deals centred on greater China. PERE said of Mayer Brown JSM, “The law firm turned heads acting for various international institutions on large mixed-use, office and development transactions on the mainland, including some of the country’s largest deals to date.”

In Asia, the Real Estate practice has around 150 members, including 26 partners, and advises nearly all of the Hang Seng Index’s properties constituents and more than half of the REITS in Hong Kong. It recently received the All Star Award for Real Estate from The Asian Lawyer, chosen by the editorial staff of The Asian Lawyer in consultation with the editors of its US affiliates, The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. It is currently ranked Band 1 by leading legal directory Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific and Tier 1 by Legal 500.
