World Trademark Review 1000 recognizes 7 Mayer Brown IP partners, awards Hong Kong IP practice top tier rankings for second consecutive year

The 2016 edition of World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 recognized seven partners in Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice and awarded the firm a top tier ranking in Hong Kong in the Enforcement & Litigation and Prosecution & Strategy categories for the second consecutive year.
The seven partners were recognized in five jurisdictions for their capabilities and contributions They are Gabriela Kennedy, Rosita Li and Benjamin Choi (all Hong Kong); Michael Adams and Richard Assmus (both United States–Illinois); John Mancini (United States–New York); and Brian Winterfeldt (United States, United States–DC Metro Area).
Ms. Kennedy is ranked as one of the top individuals in enforcement and litigation and is described as a “prominent figure on the Asian IP scene” and that the “strategic thinker has any number of innovative approaches up her sleeve.” The guide notes that Ms. Li’s “perspicacious non-contentious advice is informed by deep knowledge not only of trademark regimes, but also of advertising and marketing law.” And making his debut in WTR 1000, Mr. Choi “is a good port of call for sage pre-filing guidance.”
The publication highlights Mr. Winterfeldt as one of the leading individuals in Prosecution & Strategy who “wins plaudits for his technology nous.” Mr. Adams is described as “instrumental in the successful management of huge portfolios spanning hundreds of countries” whose “guidance on contested matters is truly expert and he is transparent as to fees and costs.” Mr. Assmus is recognized “for his contentious and transactional skills.” And last but not least, captaining Mayer Brown’s Intellectual Property efforts is the “aggressive, practical and smart” John Mancini.
