Mayer Brown adds two Corporate & Securities partners in Beijing

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced the expansion of its Corporate & Securities practice in Mainland China with the addition of Henry Wang and Billy Au. Their arrival will further expand the firm's capabilities in the areas of mergers and acquisitions as well as public and private offerings of equity and debt securities.
Elaine Lo, Senior Partner and Asia Chair of Mayer Brown JSM, said: “We are committed to continue strengthening our China capabilities. We believe the addition of Henry and Billy will enable us to better serve our clients in China, Hong Kong and throughout our global network.”
Patrick Wong, partner and head of Corporate & Securities in Asia, echoed: “I would like to extend our welcome to both Henry and Billy. Their arrival will no doubt enhance our bench strength in handling inbound and outbound M&As and capital markets transactions.”
Mr. Wang will be based in Beijing as a partner and the Head of Investments, China. He was formerly the Managing Partner of Dechert’s Beijing office. He has 20 years of experience in advising tier one multinational companies and industry leaders on corporate matters and was named a “leading China M&A lawyer” by Chambers and Partners in 2012. Mr. Wang said: “Mayer Brown is a premium law firm and it will provide me with a good platform in assisting clients as they explore business opportunities both in and outside of China. I greatly look forward to working with my team.”
Mr. Au was an of counsel at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe in Hong Kong and Herbert Smith in Beijing, respectively, prior to joining Mayer Brown. He has extensive experience in global offerings, inbound and outbound M&As and other corporate finance exercises of Chinese state-owned and privately-owned enterprises. He will be stationed in Beijing but also working out of the Hong Kong office.

I will closely collaborate with other team members of the practice group to further strengthen the already outstanding capability that Mayer Brown offers clients in capital market and corporate finance transactions involving Greater China.”
Mr. Wang received his JD from University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison and Mr. Au received his LLM from King's College in London.
