Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, advised the underwriters on a transaction named “Structured Finance Deal of the Quarter Century” by LatinFinance magazine. The publication’s Deals of the Quarter Century Awards “highlight excellence and progress in Latin America’s financial history,” according to LatinFinance.
Mayer Brown represented Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley as the underwriters on the US $300 million secured amortizing bond offering for Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A., Argentina’s national airport operator, to finance new construction works at the country’s main international airport. Mayer Brown also handled the complex structuring of the transaction, including formulating extraordinarily complex cash flow mechanics and collateral sharing arrangements and accommodating Argentina’s foreign exchange and other requirements. LatinFinance said the deal was selected as “the best structured finance deal for not just showing the funding format is still relevant, but for advancing it through innovation, giving investors comfort in a difficult jurisdiction.”
The Mayer Brown team that advised the underwriters was led by Banking & Finance partner James Patti (Chicago).
