Climate Risk Management: The Only Constant is Change

On April 21, 2022, FSRE partner Matthew Bisanz (Washington, DC) will speak on an ABA panel about bank climate risk management.

Banks and bank regulators have started to focus on the risks that climate change poses to institutions and the financial sector. Regulators are beginning to issue guidance and supervisory expectations on how banks manage climate-related financial risks. Banks are looking for data and experts to help them understand and manage those risks. However, the lack of historical models and generally accepted industry frameworks makes it hard for a bank to know what to do. Listeners are invited to join panel of representatives from the legal, regulatory, and data science fields, including David Bates from the Office the Comptroller of the Currency, to understand what they are seeing in climate risk management and how the industry can work together to move forward.
