概要

Christine has been an associate in the Restructuring group of the New York office since 2008. As part of Christine’s global restructuring practice, Christine has represented US and foreign financial institutions in some of the largest and most complex restructuring matters, including:

Creditor/Investor representations:

  • Bank, as administrator, of syndicated securitization facilities and L/C facilities in the Chapter 11 cases of Peabody Energy Corp., Arch Coal, Inc. and Cloud Peak Energy Inc.; leading U.S.-based coal companies.  These matters creatively utilized securitization, true sale and Debtor-In-Possession “DIP” lending techniques to devise innovative court-approved, complex hybrid securitization/DIP facilities.
  • Agent for syndicated loan facilities that financed aircraft in connection with the Chapter 11 case of AMR Corporation and its affiliated debtors.
  • Two Agents for syndicates of banks that had financed leasing of multiple helicopters through bi-lateral credit facilities in the insolvency cases of Waypoint Leasing Holdings Ltd. and its various subsidiaries.  Certain syndicate lenders under one of the agented facilities made a successful credit bid for certain aircraft under Section 363(k) of the Bankruptcy Code, while the other agented facility agreed to the sale of its assets to a third-part purchaser.
  • Syndicate of US-based financial institutions in a complex long-term Credit Tenant Lease distressed financing transaction involving real estate property subject of multiple Czech Republic-based insolvencies and litigations.
  • Multiple financial institution clients in derivative-based valuation disputes in Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and its affiliated debtors.  Two clients participated in the “Big Bank Settlement”, one through mediation and others adjudicated through the highly negotiated and complex claims process.
  • Secured Lender as DIP Lender and Bridge Lender in the chapter 11 cases of Lyondell Chemical Company and its affiliated debtors.
  • Directors & Officers in Nortel Networks Inc.’s so called “third estate,” its unfiled affiliated companies.
  • Bond insurer, in connection with a proposal for investment and servicing in the New York rehabilitation proceeding and chapter 11 case of FGIC Corporation.

Debtor/Company Representation:

  • ATP Oil & Gas in its chapter 11 case.

Christine's work further includes the following:

  • Lead lawyer conducting in-depth feasibility assessment of loan agreements on tight timeframes to leading investment management firm.
  • Representation of trustees to residential mortgage-backed securitization transactions in a variety of contexts, including complex settlements and litigation as well as post-closing administration.
  • Amend Resolution Plans for large financial institutions in compliance with amended Dodd Frank regulations, including substantive content updates and review of consistency across Resolution Plan sections.

Christine is a Member of the Mayer Brown New York Office Pro Bono Committee and Women’s Steering Committee.
