Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Itaú BBA bank on financing for EDP Brasil companies totaling approximately R$ 1 billion
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Itaú BBA on the structuring and coordination of a loan for an electricity transmission infrastructure project owned by EDP Trading Comercialização e Serviços de Energia S.A. and considered a priority by the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The financing was carried out through a public offering of simple debentures, not convertible into shares, in a single series, with an additional fiduciary guarantee, with a tax incentive, and in the amount of R$ 575 million.
The firm also advised the bank on structuring and coordinating financing through a public offering of simple debentures, not convertible into shares, in a single series, by EDP Espírito Santo Distribuição de Energia S.A., in the amount of R$ 500 million, to refinance and lengthen the average term of its liabilities and strengthen its working capital.
The transaction was led by partner Luis Montes and included the work of associates Ingrid Pistili and Giuliana Torelli, all from the Banking and Finance practice.
