International Tax Review ranked Mayer Brown’s global Tax practice in eight jurisdictions—Brussels, Chicago, Houston, London, New York, Palo Alto, Paris and Washington DC—in “World Tax 2014,” a comprehensive guide to the world’s leading tax firms.
Regarding the firm’s Tier 1 ranking in Chicago, International Tax Review said, “In the last year, the Chicago practice has advised leading global companies in several significant transactions.” In addition, a client praised Mayer Brown’s tax-related litigation capabilities, noting, “As far as litigation is concerned, they are our go-to law firm.”
Selection criteria for the tiered rankings consisted of positive feedback from clients and peers, with a particular emphasis on ingenuity and innovation in work completed within the last year.
Earlier this year, Chambers USA and Legal 500 recognized Mayer Brown’s Tax Controversy practice with their highest rankings for the seventh consecutive year. In addition, Mayer Brown received four top awards at the annual Americas Tax Awards sponsored by International Tax Review.
