Global M&A Network named three Mayer Brown Corporate & Securities partners among the year’s top lawyers as part of its 2014 M&A Atlas Awards, which recognize the “most accomplished, innovative and brilliant” lawyers in the M&A space, according to the publication. David A. Carpenter (Chicago/New York) and L. Kevin Sheridan Jr. (New York) were named to the “Top 50: Global M&A Lawyers” list and Philip O. Brandes (New York) was named to the “Top 50: North America M&A Lawyers” list.
Philip O. Brandes: A co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice, Mr. Brandes represents strategic and financial investors in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity securities offerings, bank financings and joint ventures, frequently with a cross-border dimension. He has particular experience advising private equity sponsors.
David A. Carpenter: Mr. Carpenter is the corporate practice leader for Mayer Brown’s New York office and is the co-chair of the firm’s India and Social Finance practices. Mr. Carpenter’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and sales of businesses, joint ventures and strategic alliances and venture capital investments, with particular emphasis on cross-border transactions. He represents companies in a variety of industries, including food & beverage, life sciences, chemicals and microfinance and related social impact investments.
L. Kevin Sheridan Jr.: Mr. Sheridan provides M&A, joint venture and other corporate advice to US and multinational businesses, including Japanese industrial and trading companies, private equity sponsors and financial services firms. He represents companies in a variety of industries, including asset management, shipping, transportation, infrastructure, chemicals, agribusiness, mining, health care services and life sciences.
