Banking & Finance lawyer Gabriela Sakamoto rejoins Mayer Brown as partner in Washington DC

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced that Gabriela Sakamoto has rejoined the firm in Washington DC as a partner in the Banking & Finance practice and Latin America, Emerging Markets and Projects groups. She joins from Chadbourne & Parke LLP and earlier in her career was an associate at Mayer Brown.

Ms. Sakamoto advises clients in the areas of project finance, structured finance and acquisition financing, particularly in Latin America. She has represented commercial banks in various roles, including as administrative agent, security agent, underwriter and/or placement agent. Ms. Sakamoto’s Latin American experience is extensive and includes transactions in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. She is also experienced in handling Turkish structured finance issuances.

Ms. Sakamoto holds a JD from New York University School of Law and a BA, magna cum laude, from Columbia University. She is fluent in Spanish and often conducts transactions in both English and Spanish.
