We are a country founded on the right of individuals to express themselves. We believe in the fundamental right to share thoughts, views, facts or ideas. That right - and the ability to practice it, is as essential to the individual as it is to the entrepreneur. It fosters competition, spurs debate, enhances diversity of thought and increases options in the marketplace of products and services as well as in thoughts, views, facts and ideas.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees that essential American right of expression for citizen as well as entrepreneur but today there are new challenges to the freedom of expression, and in particular for business.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will explore these challenges on December 3, 2014 in a program that will bring together Constitutional experts, legal scholars, and policy and opinion leaders to discuss today's First Amendment environment and its impacts upon businesses in the public square.
