As cryptocurrencies and other digital assets gain wider use and acceptance by the public, they increasingly have become the focus of law enforcement attention and investigation.

In this panel discussion, current and former federal prosecutors will discuss topics such as:

  • Law enforcement’s growing understanding of and focus on digital assets
  • The DOJ’s priorities related to digital assets
  • Overcoming the historical skepticism with which federal agents and prosecutors have generally viewed cryptocurrency, digital exchanges and blockchain transactions
  • Potential law enforcement challenges for businesses, lawyers and investors operating in the digital assets space

Guest Speaker

Saritha Komatireddy is currently an Assistant US Attorney in the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, where she is the Deputy Chief of Appeals. Ms. Komatireddy previously served as the Deputy Chief of General Crimes, Acting Deputy Chief of International Narcotics and Money Laundering, Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Coordinator, and as part of the office's National Security and Cybercrime Section. She is also a lecturer at Columbia Law School.
