Perspectives on Asian American Diversity in the Legal Sector

In honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mayer Brown is pleased to invite you to an event featuring an in-house panel from Accenture (Patrick Fang), American Express (Ming-Hsuan Elders), General Motors (Kenjiro Lecroix), and The Voleon Group (George Chang). Our panelists represent different industries, practice areas, and professional backgrounds, and will share their perspectives on diversity and inclusion for Asian Americans in the legal sector.

A 2017 study published by Yale Law School and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association reported that Asian Americans are the fastest growing minority group in law, yet lag behind other racial groups when it comes to attaining leadership roles in the legal profession. Our panelists will explore this and other topics, including the importance of diversity and inclusion when it comes to their organizations and legal departments; selecting outside counsel; and them personally. In addition, they will offer insight into both the challenges and the progress they have witnessed for achieving Asian American diversity and inclusion in the legal sector, as well as sharing thoughts on how recent developments may shape the landscape in the future.
