EU Chemical Strategy for Sustainability

Share

Ahead of the American Chemistry Council’s global chemical regulations conference, GlobalChem 2021, Mayer Brown sponsored a Global Affairs 101 Workshop on the EU’s chemicals strategy for sustainability (CSS).

The European Commission published its chemicals strategy for sustainability in October 2020. It forms part of the EU’s zero pollution ambition, which is a key commitment of the European Green Deal.

Partner Jean-Philippe Montfort spoke alongside Cefic representatives Sylvie Lemoine and Steven Van de Broeck on the European Commission’s plans to overhaul the European chemical regulatory framework, touching on the extent of the new strategy, and highlighting what certain provisions (such as the concept of “Essential Use”) might mean for global companies.
