Virtual Town Hall A Conversation on the Cyber Solarium Commission Report

The US Cyberspace Solarium Commission is a bipartisan commission established by Congress to develop a comprehensive strategy to defend the United States from significant attacks in cyberspace. The finished report will be presented to the public soon.

Mayer Brown Partner, David Simon, who serves on a pro bono basis as the Commission’s Chief Counsel for Cybersecurity and National Security Law, will moderate a virtual discussion regarding the policy recommendations from the report. The discussion will feature two of the Commissioners, former NSA Deputy Director Chris Inglis and former DHS Undersecretary Suzanne Spaulding. This program will look at:

  • The role of the US government, including the Department of Defense, in protecting the public and private sectors from cyber-attacks of significant consequences
  • Elections cybersecurity
  • Operationalizing cybersecurity cooperation within the private sector
  • Supply chain risk management
  • US Cyber deterrence and strategy
  • Strengthening norms of responsible state behavior in cyberspace
