Aperçu
Ravi Shah routinely helps clients navigate high-stakes crisis situations that garner the attention of regulators, enforcement authorities, and the media. He represents companies and individuals in litigation, criminal and civil enforcement actions, and internal investigations involving allegations of corruption, fraud, misconduct, campaign finance violations, and similar white-collar matters. Ravi has experience in federal criminal, antitrust, and securities laws. He also represents clients in False Claims Act (“FCA”) cases, including cases involving Customs fraud. Drawing on his experience across the federal and state enforcement and regulatory agencies, Ravi counsels clients from the outset of an inquiry through resolution.
Ravi also advises clients on compliance issues arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), the Foreign Agents Registration Act (“FARA”), and the Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”) and related anti-money laundering laws, and has experience conducting risk assessments, compliance program assessments, and assisting multinational companies in developing and enhancing such compliance programs.
Ravi maintains an active pro bono practice, serves on multiple firm committees, and serves on the board of DC KinCare Alliance, a Washington, D.C. nonprofit that provides crucial legal, financial, and support services for relative caregivers who raise the District’s most vulnerable and at-risk children when their parents cannot.
Ravi was previously seconded to BNY where he worked on regulatory, enforcement, and investigative matters related to the bank’s global financial service operations, including information and subpoena responses, enforcement matters, and internal investigations. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Ravi clerked for the Hon. Rebecca B. Connelly of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
