Suchitra Paul is an associate in Mayer Brown's Real Estate practice in Chicago. She represents owners, developers, equity investors, private equity funds and other domestic and foreign financial institutions in a broad range of complex commercial real estate transactions across asset classes, including industrial, multifamily, active adult housing, medical, office, commercial, hotel and retail. She has significant experience representing clients in the acquisition, disposition, financing and development of individual properties and multi-asset portfolios.

Represented:

  • The State of Illinois in the sale of the James R. Thompson Center to JRTC Holdings, LLC, who will be redeveloping the property for Google, and the State’s simultaneous acquisition of the office building located at 115 S. LaSalle in Chicago, Illinois. The transaction, which closed in 2022, furthers the State’s broader real estate alignment, allowing the State to consolidate additional downtown leases, which will save Illinois taxpayers nearly a billion dollars over the next thirty years.
  • A core-plus real estate fund in the $885.5 million sale of a 12-property, multistate portfolio of multifamily assets.
  • A real estate private equity fund in land acquisition, formation of joint ventures, financing and eventual disposition of several ground-up multifamily and active adult rental assets.
  • A real estate private equity fund in land acquisition, formation of joint ventures and financing of several ground-up industrial warehouses.
  • A major healthcare provider in the acquisition and sale of several medical office assets.
