Tyler Johnson's practice focuses on representing corporate, partnership, and individual taxpayers in all stages of federal tax controversy, including examination, administrative appeal, litigation and trial. 

Before joining Mayer Brown, Tyler served as a law clerk to Judge Tamara W. Ashford of the United States Tax Court, which provides him with unique insight into the Tax Court’s procedures and decision making process. Tyler also worked as a Certified Public Accountant in the International Tax Consulting group of a global accounting firm before entering law school which provides him with first-hand experience concerning multinational companies’ tax compliance, planning and financial regulatory reporting. 

Tyler received his JD, cum laude from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law where he served as Articles Editor of Northwestern University Law Review. Tyler also received his LLM in Taxation, with honors from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
