Mayer Brown partners Joanna Horsnail and Britt Miller named 2026 “Notable Women in Law” by Crain’s Chicago Business

Mayer Brown partners Joanna Horsnail and Britt Miller have been recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as 2026 “Notable Women in Law.” This list recognizes groundbreaking women lawyers who have established themselves as leaders in their respective practice areas and are serving as mentors to other women lawyers.

As Managing Partner of Mayer Brown’s 900-person Chicago office since 2023, Joanna leads one of the city’s largest law offices. A member of the Projects & Infrastructure practice, she represents public and private clients in the design, construction, financing, and development of major facilities, including infrastructure and power projects. Joanna has advised on numerous transformational deals for public and private clients. Recently, she counseled the State of Illinois on the deal securing the James R. Thompson Center as the corporate headquarters for Google, hailed as “a milestone in Chicago’s history.” Joanna also counts Acciona, Invenergy, Fengate, Digital Realty and the Texas Department of Transportation among many other local and global organizations among her many clients.

Britt serves on Mayer Brown’s global Management Committee and co-leads the global Antitrust & Competition practice. She represents corporations in complex antitrust matters, including price-fixing, market allocation, and monopolization cases, particularly large class actions. In recent years, Britt has represented clients in significant antitrust class actions, including defending Indiana Packers, Cermaq and Cargill in protein benchmarking cases, Delta Dental in multidistrict litigation, and Mid-America Apartments in claims regarding the use of algorithmic prices in rental apartments. She also represents Georgetown University in several high-profile financial aid class actions. Additionally, Britt represents The Big Ten Conference in multiple matters related to name, image, and likeness-related benefits for student-athletes.
