HOUSTON – Mayer Brown announced today that six prominent lawyers — Yasser Madriz, Meghaan Madriz, Gregory Krock, Miles Indest, Jason Huebinger, and Wolfgang McGavran — have joined the firm as partners in its Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Corporate & Securities practices. They will be based in the firm’s Houston and Washington DC offices. The team joins from McGuireWoods LLP.

“Clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors want counsel with deep trial experience, commercial judgment, and the ability to operate across cycles and technologies,” said Michael Olsen, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “Yasser, Meghaan, and their team bring that combination. Their work in commercial energy disputes, complex labor and employment transactions and structuring, and general complex commercial experience will deliver immediate value by joining our very active litigation group in Houston and expanding the services we can provide across our growing client base.”

“This team represents the high-caliber talent that aligns with our strategy to grow in markets critical to our clients,” said Jon Van Gorp, chair of Mayer Brown. “Mayer Brown has been in Texas for decades, among the first non Texas firms to recognize the state’s global role in energy and international markets. This strategic hiring underscores the firm’s longstanding commitment to Texas and ambition to lead the market. We are pleased to welcome them to the firm.”

Yasser, the former office managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Houston office, joins the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He focuses on complex commercial litigation, upstream and commercial energy disputes, and large transactional disputes. Recognized for first-chair trial experience and leadership, he has grown and led high-performing teams and maintains strong ties within the Houston business community and across Latin America.

“We’re excited to join Mayer Brown’s integrated platform,” said Yasser. “The firm’s commitment to Houston, its global reach, and its collaborative culture will allow us to deliver even greater value to clients while expanding the scope of our practices. We look forward to helping Mayer Brown further strengthen its position as a leading firm in the Texas market and are excited about contributing to future growth.”

Meghaan joins the Corporate & Securities practice in Houston. She advises clients on complex labor and employment structures, transactions and C-suite matters across the full lifecycle of advisory, litigation, and transactional work, with particular experience in complicated noncompete and trade secret issues, wage and hour disputes, and employment matters arising in M&A and commercial transactions.

Greg joins the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice with a rich energy litigation focus, with extensive experience in Marcellus, the middle US, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and other energy disputes, and appellate matters. He represents energy companies and other industry clients before state and federal courts, as well as in appellate proceedings. Greg brings significant experience in oil and gas disputes throughout the Midwest and eastern oil and gas states and high stakes commercial matters.

Miles, Jason, and Wolf also join the Mayer Brown Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, adding further depth in commercial, energy, infrastructure disputes, and appellate matters.

“We are delighted to welcome this outstanding team,” said Neil Wasserstrom, managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Houston office. “Their arrival reflects the firm’s continued investment in Texas and strengthens our ability to serve clients across a wide range of industries and matters. By adding significant depth in complex commercial, energy, and infrastructure work, this group enhances our already robust Houston platform and further supports our clients’ needs across the region.”

Mayer Brown opened its Houston office in 1982.
