Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Pedra Agroindustrial on the acquisition of Usina São Fernando

Tauil & Chequer Advogados, in association with Mayer Brown, advised Pedra Agroindustrial on the acquisition of distressed assets, through Usina São Fernandos' bankruptcy procedure, totalling approximately R$650 million. The assets will be used by Pedra Agroindustrial in its most recent sugar, ethanol and energy generation plant, Usina Cedro, located in the city of Paranaíba, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, a region with great potential for sugarcane plantations and for the development of soy and corn crops. The team was led by partners Luis Montes and Fabio Peixinho and included associates Nubia Bufarah, Giovanna Bakaj and Ananda Vicentini.
